45,091 population; 12 per cent non-white; 31.1 per cent urban; 9.8 per cent rural farm; $3,751 average family income; 38 per cent under $2,000; 4.7 per cent over $10,000. Net migration out, 7,731.

485 retail establishments employing 1,300; 37 wholesale employing 481.

109,000 acres farmland; 1,688 farms averaging 86 acres; 600 commercial farms; 11.5 per cent farm tenancy rate; $4 million annual farm income.

310 firms report under Employment Security. The average total employment is 9,361, broken down as follows:
