Cliffside Sunrise

Picture contributor: Roger Padgett

Brilliant scarlet and yellow rays of the rising sun above the silhouettes of the partially-demolished structures of the mill.
Cliffside Sunrise

A new day begins, just before the new year rolls in. Roger Padgett works in a small part of the old mill that is still in operation. A day or two before Christmas, 2005, he was arriving for work at dawn. He reached for his always-handy camera and took this stunning photo. In the dim light you can see about all that’s left of the century old building, as it’s being dismantled brick by brick, timber by timber. It’s nearly gone. You’ll see more of Roger’s work in an upcoming gallery of the mill’s demolition.
