Photo of The Month – June 2004

Workforce

Picture contributors: Anne & Paula Cargill

A large group of millworkers near the side entrance to Cliffside mill.
Workforce

A group at the mill, in the early 1910s. Judging from the coats, vests and ties worn by many of them, they may have been overseers and managers. We can identify only two men in the group: Of the three sitting on the rail, the one on the right (in the white shirt) is Boyce Bridges. Second from right, the large man in the derby is W. L. Packard, who was superintendent of the mill around this time.
