School Note

The note reads: I'm saying goodbye to my Physical Geography class. I want to tell you that I've enjoyed teaching you because you've been a faithful and an interesting class. I will have only pleasant memories when I think of my first (and as far as I know my last) Physical Geography class. Spend these minutes before dinner in having a good time. Camp Fire Girls, save your share of the candy and eat it with your dinner. And so, I bid you, as my geography pupils -- good-bye. Jessie Jenkins. March 10, 1922.

Jessie Jenkins was the eldest daughter of Z. O. Jenkins and Florence Haynes Jenkins, and the granddaughter of R. R. Haynes. She may have been leaving her teaching position to get ready for her June wedding to Hollis Owens on June 22.
