A double-dog dare
Cliffside was a peaceable town…until it came to horseshoes. This call to arms was saved for history by the late Bill Ingram, one of the ring leaders of the dreaded River Street Gang. It was issued in the late ’40s. In that it contained some pretty high-toned words (outmoded, audacity, infrequent, taunts, lair), would anyone bet that Gerard Davidson didn’t have a hand in the creation of this bulletin? And, as a teacher, he had ready access to a typewriter. Anyone remember seeing this? Anybody remember who won?
