Old Gold and Black 1937-01
Foreword

The class of 1937 was the first to call the yearbook “Old Gold and Black.” Its individual photos of the seniors are of exceedingly good quality. The clarity and lighting are a great deal better than that found in most year books. (You can click on each student’s photo to see a larger version.) But hardly any attention was given to sports teams and the identification of players. On the last page of this year book there are three group photos, two of the girls’ basketball team, and one of a mixture of students, many of whom were not in the 1937 graduating class. No one in these shots was identified.
Like the 1940 book, this one’s pages were first preprinted with text only, then the photos were pasted by hand onto every page of every copy. The text and pictures shown herein was scanned from a copy of the year book provided by Buzzy Moss, whose aunt, Mary Frances Moss, was in this senior class.
