Cliffside, Dec. 13.—Hello Friends. Christmas decorations every where. Have you noticed the pretty Christmas tree lights that beautify our town? It was said it rivaled the town of Forest City. We take this as a compliment for the decorations of Forest City are really beautiful. If you haven’t written your letter to Santa Claus you better get busy. Christmas should be the happiest time of the year and it should be celebrated in a way that will be blessing in the eyes of the one who gave his all that we might live.
The B. A. U. had a delightful social at the home of Mrs. Chas. McCurry, Tuesday night.
Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Hunnicutt held services with the colored people at Haynes church Sunday at 3 o’clock P. M.
Miss Alice David had as her guest Sunday, her sister from Columbia, South Carolina.
The Woman’s Club held a very interesting meeting and program on Tuesday at 3:30 at the Memorial Building.
Mr. Cale Burgess of Raleigh spoke at the morning hour at the Baptist church Sunday and was the dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hunnicutt.
Mrs. Luther Campbell has returned home from Washington, D. C. Her niece Carolyn Greene, returned with her for a visit.
Mr. Paul Richetts [Ricketts] of Great Falls, was the week-end guest of his sister, Mrs. T, M, Crowe.
Mr. Buster [Buck] Hawkins, a student of Clemson college, spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Z. B. Hawkins.
Miss Mary Crowe spent the week-end with Miss Virginia Newton, of Forest City.
Misses Lillian and Alma Sue Hamrick of Bostic were the week-end guests of Miss Lois Womack.
Mrs. Amanda Clayton has returned to her home in Brevard, after spending several weeks with Mr. and Mrs. C. [J.] F. Clayton.
Mrs. J. A. Hunnicutt’s class was entertained with a social at the home of Mrs. T. C. Ellis. Mrs. Hunnicutt was delightfully surprised with a holiday shower. Fruits, candies, and nuts were enjoyed by the following women: Mesdames J. V. [B.] Winn, Merle Murray, Wilfred Wilkie, Ernest Bailey, J. A. Hunnicutt, Fred Roberson [Robinson], Clayton Scruggs, Homer Saratt, J. M. Devenney, Dewey McDaniel and T. C. Ellis. Mr. J. V. [B.] Winn, Rev. J. A. Hunnicutt, and Master Faye Winn and Gladys Bailey were visitors.
