Cliffside, September 21 — Hello Friends—How is everybody? The Twin Reporters should be collecting on their sleep but we are still plugging away with our so called crazy column.

We want to comment on a nice young man in this community who is liked by everybody. He has a charming smile and [when] you know him, you will have a true-blue friend. Have you already guessed who it is? You were right, none other than James Brown.

Those visiting Mr. and Mrs. Quinn Womick Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Worth Womick and children of Avondale, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Griffin and little daughter of Spindale, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Pruett of Forest City.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Guffey, Mrs. J. B. Guffey, Braxton and Mary Sue Guffey motored to Chimney Rock Saturday.

Miss Emma Sue Horton of Mooresboro, was the week-end guest of Miss Eula Belle Sizemore.

Mrs. J. F. Atkinson who has been sick for several weeks is improving some.

Mrs. Francis [Frances] Dobbins and daughter Joyce, of Ellenboro visited in Cliffside, Sunday.

Miss Verdia [Verdie] Mae Brackett entertained her many friends with a party Saturday night, at the home of her sister, Mrs. Wake Harrill.

Miss Inez Lemmons, of Shelby was the week-end guest of Miss Verda [Verdie] Mae Brackett.

Friends and relatives of Mr. Jim Gibson surprised him with a birthday dinner Sunday. Mr. Gibson is fifty-one years old, and we wish for him many more happy birthdays.

The many friends of Dr. H. L. Robertson will be glad to hear that he is improving after being seriously ill.

Mr. Paul Ricketts, of Great Falls, was the week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Crowe.

The senior B. Y. P. U. gave a pound supper at the home of Misses Inez and Virginia Biggerstaff, Saturday night. Among those present were: Misses Emma Sue Horton, Eula Belle Sizemore, Mary Crowe, Blanch Devinney, Hazel Cash, Inez and Virginia Biggerstaff. Messrs Andrew Devinney, Hal Griffin and C. C. Wood.

Mr. J. L Sizemore, Eula Belle and Leola Sizemore, Emma Sue Horton, Clara Atkinson and Macie Bridges attended the services at Forest City Sunday afternoon.

Miss Rose Womick spent the week-end with Miss Mary Ellen Pruett, of Forest City.

Messrs Clarence and Garland Bradley, of Old Fort, were the Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Womack.

Mrs. Floyd Noble and children, of Charlotte, visited her sister, Mrs. Boyce Bridges last week.

Mrs. Boyce Bridges and daughters Mrs. Inez Bridges Ashe and Misses Wytle Bridges accompanied by Miss Hazel Haynes and Rachel Fortune and Mrs. Reid Brawley spent Wednesday in Charlotte.

Mr. H. Paul Bridges and friend, Mr. Carl Byers, Leaksville, visited Mr. Bridges’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Bridges, of Cliffside over the week-end.

Miss Hazel Haynes, Mr. H. Paul Bridges, Miss Wytle Bridges, Mr. Carl Byers motored to Asheville, Sunday.
