Cliffside, Jan. 6—Miss Louise Harmon spent several days of the past week with Misses Eula Belle and Leola Sizemore.
Miss “Polly” Scruggs spent last week in Forest City, visiting her sister, Mrs. Joe Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. B. L. [F.] Biggerstaff and children, Raleigh, Margie and Jack visited relatives in the Goode’s Creek community Sunday after-noon.
Miss Mary Frances Moss spent the Christmas holidays with her parents in Grover, N. C.
Miss Helen Greene delightfully entertained a number of her friends on Friday evening with a “Gossip Party.” Those enjoying the occasion were: Misses Florence Blanton, Margaret Talbert, and “Polly” Scruggs of Cliffside; Kathaleen and Sarah Holland, Lois and Beth Long of Forest City; Mary Morris of Avondale, and Mary Sue Mullinax of Chesnee. Messrs Wesley McMurry, Robert and Howard Tolbert [Talbert] of Cliffside; Ralph Greene, Broughton and Rush Ramsey of Chesnee; “Bob” Long of Forest City; James Webb of Caroleen and “Bill Morris of Avondale.
After the games delicious refreshments were served and all enjoyed a fine time.
Miss Ethylyn [Etheleen] Keeter of the National Business College of Charlotte spent the Christmas holidays with her parents Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Keeter
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whisnant returned to their home Saturday after spending the Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whisnant in Gaffney, S. C.
Misses Ethylyn [Etheleen] Robison [Roberson], Margaret Tolbert [Talbert], Geraldine McCurry and Eloise Ramsey returned to the Boiling Springs Junior College after spending Christmas holidays with their parents.
Miss Marjorie Byrd spent several days with friends in Cliffside.
Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Taylor and small daughter, Peggie Sue, of Fairfax, Ala., spent several days with relatives in Cliffside. Mrs. Taylor and daughters, remains [remain] here while Mr. Taylor returned home.
The Evangelistic Club held services at the Prison Camp on Sunday, Dec. 21, and the following conversions were reported: Arron
Walton, Ed Smith, George Buff, Jeff Johnson, Lewis Wall, George Hall and Lester Pressley.
The club is very able and will be glad to render their aid in services at any time.
Misses Charity and Callie Crawley spent several days with relatives in Spindale.
Miss Janie Campbell spent Thursday and Friday night [nights ??] with Miss Bunia White.
Mr. Hamie Harmon spent several days with his parents; Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Harmon near Gaffney.
Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Hardin visited relatives in Cliffside. Last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Craig Auten and son George Robert, of Belmont, were the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Sizemore, on Thursday.
