Cliffside, Nov. 4 — Miss Ethylyn Keeter of the National Business school at Charlotte, was the week-end guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Keeter.

Mr. Wesley McMurray, of Furman University, at Greenville, S. C., was the week-end guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. P. McMurray.

Mr. Walter Hamrick, of Fort Bragg, was the week-end guest of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hamrrck.

Misses Geraldine McCurry and Ethylyn Robertson [Roberson], of the Boiling Springs Junior college, were the week-end guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McCurry and Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Robertson [Roberson].

Mrs. Maurice Hendrick and children, Max [Mack] and Elizabeth were the week-end guests of relatives in Rutherfordton.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Crawly [Crawley] and children, were the week-end guests of Misses Charity and Callie Crawley.

The W. M. U. of the State Line church will give the play, “The Old Fashioned Mother” at the town hall Friday night at 7:30. This is being sponsored by the Alda Grayson circle.

Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Black were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Dobbins of Ellenboro.

Miss Clara Atkinson visited Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Atkinson.

Miss Larue Vassey of State Line is visiting relatives in Cliffside.

Miss Macie Bridges and Miss Ruby McDaniel visited Mrs. A. B. Rouppe [Ruppe] at Lavonia on the past week-end.

A large audience witnessed the beautiful baptismal service at the Baptist church Sunday morning.

The Baptist church was delighted to have Miss Alda Grayson, a missionary from China, as their guest speaker Sunday morning. Miss Grayson gave a wonderful address which was enjoyed and appreciated to the greatest extent.

Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Watkins visited Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Neal near Ellenboro, Saturday evening.

Rev. J. A. Hunnicutt is assisting Rev. Parris in a revival at Henrietta this week.

Mrs. W. P. Winn has returned to her home in Shelby after spending some time with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hill.

Miss Emma Sue Crow delightfully entertained a number of friends with a party on Saturday evening. Those enjoying the occasion were: Pearle Ledbetter, Helen Goforth, Reba White, Sable Johnson, Lyndall Clayton, Alice Jonas, Geneva Short, Janie Campbell, Bunia White, Ethylyn Keeter, Banche Devenney, Edith Hooker, Hazel Blanton, Lonnie Walker, T. V. Greene, Truman Walker, of Marion, Raleigh Holcombe, Jack Baynard, Broadus Hamrick, Hal Griffin, James Hooker. Lexter Condrey, Paul Wray, Fred Crow, James Crow.

Miss Lois Womack was the week-end guest of Miss Emma Silvers at Avondale.

Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hardin and son, Charles spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Cleat Hardin near Rutherfordton.

Rev. and Mrs. R. C. Smith and children of Erwin, Tenn., visited friends in Cliffside during the past few days.
