Mabel Cargill’s Parents

From The Charlotte News, March 5, 1939
The photograph is faded now. It’s a long time since the man under the black hood snapped it. Things have happened since that day in 1902, but things have happened to keep Boyce Bridges and his sweetheart together all these years. They are Mr. and Mrs. Boyce Bridges —and have been for 36 years. They are proud to show the photograph to friends—and to The Charlotte News.
Mr. and Mrs. Bridges, who are living in Cliffside now, submitted the photograph in the “Made For Each Other” Contest being conducted by the Carolina Theater and The Charlotte News. The contest is being held in conjunction with the movie “Made For Each Other,” which will be shown at the Carolina starting tomorrow. The oldest photograph of sweethearts or honeymooners still living brings to its owners a cash prize of $10. Second oldest photograph wins a $5 cash prize, and the owners of the ten next oldest photographs will receive free passes to the Carolina’s film, “Made For Each Other.”
