In Memory of Mr. Dorus Huss

1914-2004
Mr. Huss, who passed away on September 10, 2004, was for many years a leader, coach and teacher in Rutherford County Schools. We know that he made a difference in the lives of many former students and athletes and had a great deal of influence on hundreds of students at both Cliffside and Chase High School. Because we want to memorialize this outstanding educator, we have established a scholarship drive for aspiring future teachers. The scholarship would be awarded to a Chase High School senior who plans to enroll in a college to pursue a degree in teaching. Our desire is to encourage a new generation of “Mr. Huss” teachers and coaches.
If you would like to contribute to the scholarship fund, please send a check payable to the following address:

We…dedicate the Cliffdweller of 1953 to Mr. D. H. Huss, in recognition of his wise leadership and his sympathetic understanding of young people…of his eager interest in our school, and his untiring efforts for its advancement…for all the qualities which make up a true Christian Leader.
