Halloween Lite

No Spooks or Ghouls

Three
students dressed in "Tacky" attire.
An adult (teacher) also in tacky costume

Phillip White, retired principal of Cliffside School helped us celebrate the 2016 season with these photos and this:

These are characters in the first “Tacky Day” held at Cliffside School in the 1970 Halloween season. I got the idea to do this one day when Teacher Margaret Beatty was talking about things that her daughter Ann, also a teacher, was participating in at her school. I’m sure Margaret regretted telling me, but she was a good sport and participated in Tacky Day every year until her retirement.

On picture at left is (l-r): Kenny Bridges (goes by Howard now), son of Jerry and Rae Bridges; Sharon Hamrick, daughter of Guy and Helen Hamrick; and Eric Scruggs, son of Harry and Nell Dean Scruggs.

The other photo is Millie Lou Wilson, 4th grade teacher. She lived on Old Caroleen Road and taught at Cliffside for a few years until her retirement. I believe this was her second year to teach at Cliffside. She was ready and willing to participate in many crazy activities that I came up with.
