Pioneer Day

The Cliffside School administration took care that the students’ minds were open to new experiences and perspectives, such as, how our ancestors lived. Rhonda Fox reacted to the photos below with this comment:

This is 3rd or 4th grade either 1973 or 1974. We had a group come and sing folk songs and a storyteller from the mountains. Mrs. Wilson, Mrs. Poston or Mrs. Haygood. We had pinto and ham beans, corn muffins, canned peaches and milk. Food that people in covered wagons would eat. We use to have it every year.
