Henrietta-Caroleen-Avondale School Kids

This short film, of children and teachers at Tri-High and the elementary schools in the three villages, was shot in 1940 by H. Lee Waters. It was made at the same time and shown along with the 1940 Cliffside film. First up is the Tri-High segment, filmed on the playground. Some may recognize Principal Forest Hunt tossing a football and D. C. Cole among others in the faculty. In the elementary school footage, we see the entire student body of each school swarm four abreast down the steps and past the camera.

Originally a silent film, we’ve added a music “score” of big-band instrumentals from that era.
