Announcement of Commencement at Cliffside School

Announcement of commencement at Cliffside school.

Dr. Zeno Wall, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Shelby, will deliver the Literary Address May 24th, at 8:00 o’clock in the Cliffside School auditorium. Dr. Wall will be an interesting speaker for the occasion since he left Cliffside twenty years ago to prepare himself for his present calling.

Superintendent Charles C. Erwin has announced the commencement dates as May 21st to 24th. This will include the Class Day Exercises on May 21st, the Senior Play, Saturday night, May 22nd, the Baccalaureate sermon on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock and the Graduating Exercises on Monday night at 8:00 o’clock. Rev. R. C. smith, pastor of the Baptist Church of Cliffside, will preach the Baccalaureate sermon. Rev. Smith is a newcomer to Cliffside and a preacher of unusual ability.

Prior to the commencement proper will be the Annual Banquet in the R. R. Haynes Memorial building. The banquet has become a distinct part of the school closing and is looked forward to with considerable interest.

This item was printed in The Sun on May 6, 1926.
