A Day’s Journey

“A Day’s Journey” was a regular column in The Sun. Each week the writer described a motor trip through some portion of the area. This is a part of one column, where he had passed through Cliffside.
How pleasant it is after an absence even if brief to see familiar faces and greet friends again. The other day in Cliffside Mr. B.B. Goode, Manager of the Cliffside Motor Co., was selling tires at a great rate and his assistant, Mr. C.B. Edwards, spoke of Rutherfordton, where he was born and raised.
Miss Una Edwards, his sister, was attending to the correspondence of Mr. Charles H. Haynes, President of Cliffside Mills. Their mother, Mrs. Lorena Edwards, had come down from Rutherfordton to spend the week-end with them.
Mr. W. E. Owens, the well known tenor, was busy selling a customer from the large stock of Cliffside Furniture Store.
And a few pleasant words were had with Dr. Rudisill, manager of the Cliffside Drug Store and also with Mr. Roach, Manager of the Cliffside Mills Store.
