On the back of the photo…

“Ted Williams and his team of major and minor league stars from the Pensacola Naval Air Station come to town today to play Addsco at 5:30pm at Hartwell Field in a game that is attracting a great deal of interest among the fans.

“The appearance of Williams, the only hitter to bat over the .400 mark in the American League since 1930 over the spans of a season’s play, and the chance to get another look at Red Hamrick’s fire-ball, are natural drawing cards.”
