WWII Honor Roll

Cliffside in World War II

WWII Honor Roll

In World War II, 366 men and women from the Cliffside area served in the armed forces. As they joined or were drafted, their names were inscribed on a bronze plaque that hung for many years just outside the Post Office entrance in the old Mill Office building. That plaque now stands beside the R.R. Haynes Memorial Clock Tower at the site of the Haynes homeplace.

Their names are listed below. The names of those who did not survive the war are links to each man’s obituary and an account of his service career.
