Smartly-dressed Lady

There is nothing on this photograph to identify her, but she’s no doubt the teacher identified as “Miss Padgett” in the faculty group photo a couple of pages back.

Proper ladies in town had no problem dressing in style. The Cliffside Mills Store had experts who would make annual trips to New York to order the latest fashions, and then help the shoppers choose just the right clothing.
