Rowboat

His boat is far out in a broad section of the river.
William Edgar Hames on the river near Cliffside

One slow day, Will took his camera on location to shoot a vista he’d often admired, of the lovely farms on the far side beyond a broad expanse of the river. Realizing the shot was lacking something, the inventive Will grabbed a nearby boat and injected into the scene an object of foreground interest: himself. One can almost hear him barking across to his assistant, when the boat was in perfect position, “OK, Ned, shoot it! Now!”
