Miss Susan Padgett – 1912

Susan Padgett
Susan Padgett

The photo only reveals her name and that she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, but in a 1913 article on Cliffside in Sky-Land magazine, we learn this:

Miss Susan Padgett is another noble-hearted young woman, who has toiled sixteen years in the weaving-room for the support of herself and mother. Miss Padgett is a specimen of fine physical development, her health is unimpaired; nor has her vision of life become distorted from her long service. Possessing fine ideals and a well-poised character, Miss Padgett stands foremost among the women of the mill.
