Joseph Beason

Joe Beason sit in the saddle of his horse. He's wearing a long coat that reaches the stirrups.
Joseph Beason (1848-1930)

Was it the photographer’s idea to photograph Mr. Beason on his horse, or Beason’s? Was the Hames Studio in this same building as the barber shop? Where was this building? This photo was taken long before the Memorial Building—and possibly even the Store Building—was built, so it could have been almost anywhere in town.

Months later we acquired photos that show this building was at almost the same spot as that on which the Memorial Building would later be built.
