George Houston Sparks

George Houston was the first-born child of Robert Lee Sparks and Ebber Sloan Bostic. He was born on 28 August 1921. Ebber stated that he was a beautiful child with curly dark hair and brown eyes. At the age of three he developed acidosis as a result of severe diarrhea and died, on 16 December 1924. One year later doctors discovered a means of preventing the severity of this condition. He is buried in the Sparks burial plot at Cliffside.

Although his mother lived seventy years after the death of Houston, his memory lived on with her through the years.

From Some of the Ancestors and Descendants of Robert Lee Sparks and Ebber Sloan Bostic by Jimmy Louis Sparks, 1999
