The Coal Drop

Showing the side of the mill's north end. The train tracks ended in mid air.
In recent times the windows in this section of the old mill have been bricked up. Locomotives would push coal cars out onto this trestle to empty their contents onto the coal pile below, then, as needed, workers would wheelbarrow the coal over to the boilers.
