Present Day Tour (2002)

Remains of the “Pits”

Looking up at the cement walls of the reservoir that once held a supply of water for use in the mill's operation.
Behind the garage were concrete cisterns which may have been used in early mill operations. Marc Demond says they were called “alligator pits, although no one ever saw alligators in them.” To their right was the old cotton gin building.
