Moving 110 to Bonsal

A "train" assembled for the tourists. In the background is the massive stone mountain with the Civil War carving in its side.
Another view of the train in a work area.
A crew of eight stand for a final photo before the engine they've been maintaining for years.
A 26-wheeled outfit. A Volvo tractor driving away with the engine on a special low-slung flat-bed trailer.
Another view of the rig.
The date is Feb. 6, 2013.
Truck carefully making the turn.
The bottom of the trailer is only inches from the road surface.
The rig is seen from the rear. Sign on the back of the trailer: 'Oversize Load." Indeed.
Wide shot of engine. Workmen watch carefully for problems.
Workmen adjusting the rails.
Workmen making more adjustments for the rolloff from the trailer.
As some attend to the rigging, others are inspecting the engine, seeing what's to be done.
Rear view of the engine's cab.
Workmen climb over the engine.
It too is on a low-slung trailer with tracks.
We see the heavy chains that hold the car in place on the trailer.
A wide shot of the tender, still on the trailer.
Out of view, the front-end loader must be straddling the rails, in order to pull the tender directly onto the rails.
The tender is now on the museum's permanent tracks.
We see engine 110, the tender and a large diesel utility engine that is edging the two units closer together.
The cab is painted a drab green; the steps and hand-holds have a more recent layer of bright red.
