This Bomb's For You!
It's from the Greene's of Shelby Highway. That's Bobo (“Bo”) Greene posing with the big bomb somewhere in England during the Second World War. Bo's two brothers, Irvin and Joe, were also Over There; Joe in France, Irvin in North Africa. Joe and Bo ran across each other in England.
After being discharged, Bobo ran the bowling alley and cafe in '46 and '47, and, for awhile, operated a service station up on Highway 120. Then, when the Korean War started, he reinlisted.
He was the son of Raudy and Prella Beason Greene. In addition to two brothers, Bo had eight sisters: Genie, Pinkie, Virginia, Coda, Florence, Pauline, Mary Sue, and Elizabeth.
At an early age Bo worked for “Tubby” Hawkins delivering groceries on his bicycle. (He's shown riding that bike in the 1937 movie.) Later he worked for C.P. Hamrick as a butcher. In the sixties and seventies he worked at The Roundup Store, owned by Dr. Jack Hunt.
He married Margaret Beaver and they had three sons, Mike, Rick and Dan. Bo was a likable person, always ready to help anyone. He died in 1974 at the age of 51.
