IF WE DON'T see all of Rutherford County, we see much of it, from the southeast corner to the snowcapped peaks at the northwest edge.
It's another Roy Lee Harris treasure. He may have been testing a new telephoto lens, and was shooting from a vantage point somewhere at Fairview. As close the mountains are, about 25 miles, in our mind they always seemed far away. And it's always a surprise, as we're traveling west on the Cliffside-Boiling Springs Highway, to look over and see them looming so large.
