Photo of the Month - Apr 2009
“Cliffside Mills Store”

Contributor: Anthony Scruggs

Cliffside Mills Store

This photo was made sometime after the building's expansion, probably around 1914 or so.

To see closeups and id's, click on the people. The left half of the building held a drug store, and, to its right, what appears to be a Ford agency. The right half of the building was the Cliffside Mills Store. Only the store has a concrete sidewalk. The drug store and the Ford agency has dirt right up to their doors. (Wipe your feet.)

Anthony Scruggs found this photo postcard on eBay (and paid quite a sum for it). Our thanks for sharing. Below is the back of the card, and blowups of the signs mounted along the front of the building.
