Cliffside, Dec. 13—Plans are now well underway to have a community Christmas Tree in the School Auditorium Christmas Eve. A number of committees have been appointed and details of this community affair will be given in The Sun at a later date.
Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Whitaker has as their guest Sunday Misses Morris, Hairr, Wilson and David, members of the school faculty.
Misses Willie and Alice Carpenter, Accompanied by Mr. Frank Hall, of Avondale, spent a short time in Spartanburg Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Padgett spent Sunday afternoon in Forest City visiting.
Miss Cora Lee Dalton, who is a member of the school faculty of Harris, N.C., was in town Monday afternoon.
Mr. J. C. Hames, Cashier of the Haynes Bank, spent Monday in Rutherfordton on business.
Mr. W. B. Wilson and wife were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Freeman, of the Mt. Vernon section.
Mr. Memory Freeman spent Sunday in Shelby.
Mr. and Mrs. Shuford, accompanied by Mrs. B. J. Davidson, spent Friday afternoon in Spartanburg, S. C.
Mr. John G. Roach, manager of the Cliffside Mill Store, has just returned from Baltimore, where he purchased a large supply of holiday goods.
Mr. and Mrs. George Pruette spent a few hours in Spartanburg Saturday.
A number of the teachers were in Spartanburg Saturday shopping.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Carpenter spend Sunday in Gastonia.
Miss Mabel Bridges, who is teaching at Pinehurst, N. C., spent the week-end with her parents.
Mr. Clarence M. Guggenheimer, of New York City, and Mr. Benjamin Cone, of Greensboro, N. C., spent Thursday here on business.
