Elizabeth Ann Sparks
Elizabeth Ann was born on 27 December 1936.
She was the tenth child of Robert Lee Sparks and
Ebber Sloan Bostic. While a student at Cliffside
High School Elizabeth (Lib) was selected to represent
the school as the beauty queen in the Carousel Parade
at Forest City. Lib graduated from Cliffside High
in 1955 after having married Paul Eugene Earls on
20 March 1954.
After high school Lib and Paul Gene moved to San
Antonio, Texas, where they lived for four years while
Paul Gene served in the Air Force. Both of their
sons were born at Lackland Air Force Base in San
Antonio, Texas. Paul Gene was born on 20 January
1957. Colen Lee was bom on 31 January 1959. In June
of 1959 Paul and Lib moved to Sandy Mush, North Carolina
where they lived for six months. During this time
Paul Gene was employed at Pittsburgh Plate Glass
in Shelby, NC, and Lib was employed with Cone Mills
in the Finishing Department.
In December 1959 Paul Gene joined the Charlotte
City Police Department and the family moved to Charlotte,
NC. Lib took a position with Family Finance where
she worked for a year and six months. They purchased
their home at 4136 Blenhein Road.
Lib began work with Scott Drug Company in 1962 and
remained with them for approximately two years. Their
daughter, Kimberley Ann, was born at Presbyterian
Hospital in Charlotte on 9 October 1965. Lib remained
at home with the children until her separation from
Paul Gene in 1972. At that time she became a hostess
with Denny's Restaurant. She was employed with Denny's
for eight years before accepting a position as waitress
with Quincy's. After several years with Quincy's,
Lib was employed by Cracker Barrel in Charlotte.
While living in Charlotte Lib attended Restoration
Church. In July, 1999 Lib moved to Saginaw, Texas
to make her home with her daughter Kirn and her husband,
Tim Hill. She enjoys traveling, bowling, cross-stitch,
and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She resides in Saginaw and works at a nearby Cracker
Barrel Restaurant.
