During 1941 Louisiana Maneuvers. Robert was in the 2nd Armored Division. He eventually became a corporal and was involved in the North Africa campaign; part of the invasion of Sicily; was stationed in England prior to D-Day; went into France six days after the invasion; went through France, Belgium and Germany.
