“Henry was my great grandfather, who in his later years owned the property that is now known as the Houser Lake Area. I understand that Yates Houser, who was his grandson, purchased the land and built Houser Lake.

“[Henry Ramsey's sons] were Roy, John, Colon and Arthur. Roy had a large family and lived many years at Fairview. Colon had a farm and store at State Line. John & Arthur moved to Tennessee many years ago. When I was a little kid John had a store across the highway from the Hamrick's' Store at Fairview.

“Henry was the foreman of the brick masons who built the dam, mill and most of Cliffside. You did not hear much of him after Cliffside was built. He went down on the river and farmed for many years.

“Mamie (my grandmother) married Moses Cecil Simmons, Essie married Tildon Laxton Houser, Addie married James Monroe Hamrick, Cordie first married Steve R. Simmons, second married A. B. Lewis and third married W. T. Hamrick. All the children of Cordie and Steve are double first cousins to the children of Mamie and Moses. Two sisters married two brothers.

“These four sisters were born between the early 1870's and 1891.” —Jim Haynes
