| An aerial view of the plant and the village in 1952. Originally there were 20 6-room and 22 5-room "modern frame cottages" for the operators and their families, and one 8-room dormitory for single men (more may have been built later). As these houses were up to 40 years newer than those in the mill village, and had indoor plumbing, the mill folks looked at them with envy. Featured as Photo of the Month for November 2002. |
