In 1957 or thereabouts, Roy Lee Harris made a sequence of aerial photos of Cliffside and vicinity. Over the years several of them were widely distributed, except this one, which, we think, best captured the flavor and charm of the town. It's a grand view, from the mill to way beyond the cemetery, on out Beason Road. You can see, almost in its entirety, the neighborhood of Reservoir, Church and Academy Streets. But best of all, it shows in the foreground practically all the elements of our small but special “downtown.”
The Society has had printed a limited supply of oversize copies on special museum quality matte paper. Including the 1/4-inch borders, the prints are exactly 14"w x 11"h.
